The November Photo of the Month contest was no different from the previous ones. It showcased everything from wildlife to abstract photography. Judging the contest was ace photographer Simon Høgsberg , who spent a considerable amount of time in selecting the final images. | About the Judge: Simon Høgsberg is a freelance photographer based in Copenhagen. In 2001, he got his BA in photography from School of Media in London. Expressing his difficulty in judging the value of such varied and beautiful images like the ones in the Fotoflock contest, Simon says: "I always find it difficult to know how to view an image if I don't know the context of the shot. Where is it taken? What am I supposed to do with the picture? Is there a message in it that is meant to be understood, or should I just try to appreciate the beauty of the photo and not look for meanings that aren't there? The photographs entered into the November Photo of the Month competition at fotoflock.com are all single frame images that have no title or caption that can help the viewer to get an idea of what he/she is looking at and with what "glasses" he/she is supposed to look at the content of the photographs. Is this "National Geographic" photography or is it art? Context is everything and without context judging the value of a picture is, I think, sort of impossible. With this in mind, here is the winner of the November Photo of the Month Fotoflock competition + the runners up."
