How to photograph star trails

Star trail photography, as the name depicts, is a form of photography where the path of a star across the sky is photographed by leaving the shutter open for a long time to allow prolonged exposure. Though it is the earth that rotates around its axis, the stars that we see also tend to rotate around the north and the south poles in circles. Star trail photography therefore involves capturing these star trails as they rotate around the polar axis.

Candlelight photography: Tips and tricks

Photoshop Basics: Tools

Picking up from where we left in our last article on the basic overview of the Photoshop interface, this week we will cover its Tools Palette in detail.

The Tools Palette is located on the extreme left of your Photoshop workspace and can be used to do a variety of changes to your image. The palette contains some hidden tools as well. For example the Brush tool has Brush, Pencil & Color Replacement tools inside the same box. You can explore the box, by holding the left mouse button while it expands.
