Shooter - 'Classic Black and White'. The result.

Classic Black and White

Shooter, our unordinary photochallenge, received an extraordinary response this time around with the flock sending us over 370 entries in a week. We knew that judging the contest was going to be a mammoth task not just because of the sheer number but also the high quality and creativity portrayed in every single image. So we turned to one of the masters of Black and White photography, Prabuddha Dasgupta to do the impossible, to choose the top four images. And here they are, the winning entries of the Shooter: Classic Black and White contest.

Prabuddha DasguptaAbout the Judge: A self-taught photographer, Prabuddha Dasgupta is known for his bold and individualistic style. He stormed into the world of photography with his controversial collection of portraits and nudes of urban Indian women called Women and has not looked back ever since. His work continues to be displayed in many international institutions like the Museo Ken Damy, Brescia, Italy, and Galleria Carla Sozzani, Milan, Italy. He has also worked for some of the best Indian, French, English, Italian and American magazines.

Prabuddho has been one of the ppl i ve followed. I loved his bw style... but I wonder why he chose this image as the winner. Bengal seems to be a common thread - but no idea... does make me think for sure... only because the winning pic is not good at all... the other special mention pics are at least interesting.

There were other photographers from Kolkata also but might not be from that 'Club, so don't blame the City of joy and art & culture.
Congrats Winner.

Great selection indeed. No wonder Bengal rocks. But there is a (Dis)organisation called FIP now based in Kolkata. I am Life Member 436 but all my efforts to contact them have failed. Would some one please help me to contact them.I have not heard anything from them nor seen Viewfinder since ages. I know it is beyond this platform. But pl......

Looked at judge's portfolio quite interesting commercial stuff there.

With no offense to the shooter and shooter's efforts, I must say extremely incompetent image. Sorry nowhere close to many more much better entries.

What a disappointment.
