My parents encouraged creative expression and participation in a broad range of artistic activities and of course there was the love for photography. My temperament is artistic and I am a traveler. I usually avoid being a tourist but an explorer and a street photographer. People and their surroundings are my inspiration; I enjoy exploring and capturing various cultures and life styles around me.

I am presently interning with Colin Finlay, a world-renowned photojournalist and environmental activist who is a self-taught photographer and a four-time “Picture of the Year” award winner. He has photographed wars, conflicts, genocide, famine, environmental issues, disappearing traditions and has filmed several television documentaries. He’s circled the globe 27 times seeking compelling images that make a difference. | | Q&A | | | Why do you think your photo should win the Photo of the Year (POTY) Contest? I don’t think why my photo shouldn’t win the Photo of the Year contest; I cannot insist that my photo should win. I believe that the viewer/judge/voter who has a “great eye” will decide the best of the lot; it will be a tough pick because all 48 entries are extremely good. Who do you think is your biggest competitor? Every human being with a great eye is a competitor. How long have you been a photographer? Not sure, I will always be one.
What does photography mean to you? Photography is when my eye coordinates with my brain and finger tip to release the shutter and capture life, nature, time, situation, poem, language, position, geometry and design. What does your ideal day with a camera look like? I believe every day is a perfect day to photograph and as a Roman author from the 1st century B.C. said “Every day should be passed as if it were to be our last.” Why should the flock vote for your photo? It will be an encouragement. | |
