Q&A

Why do you think your photo should win the Photo of the Year (POTY) Contest?
Though it is a very common scene of rural India, in the photograph all the elements are distributed so harmoniously that you never get bored of viewing it for hours. The heavy and slow oxcart, symbol of a hard poor but dignified life, is heading towards a light ethereal open space. There is an eternal beauty in this shot which cannot be abolished by the present jet life. I think this should win for the strength of its eternity and simplicity.

Who do you think is your biggest competitor?
A difficult question and cannot be answered.

How long have you been a photographer?
I have been photographing since 2001.

What does photography mean to you?
To me photography is the medium of expressing myself, my feelings to the world. It gives meaning to my existence.

What does your ideal day with a camera look like?
It is the bad weather which generates the scope for excellent photography.

Why should the flock vote for your photo?
The viewers of Flock are judicious, art loving and give value to the great shots. It is my faith that they never judge wrongly.
