Shock resistant, waterproof, dust-proof and frost-resistant - These are the extraordinary characteristics which makes the EXILIM EX-G1 the perfect outdoor camera for sports enthusiasts and adventurers. The Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) is of the same opinion and chose CASIO's EXILIM EX-G1 as the winner in the 'Best Rugged Compact Camera' category for its 2010 awards. When explaining the reasons for their decision, TIPA praised the camera's sturdiness combined with an extremely slim, elegant design and a wide range of functions.

TIPA is an association of independent photography and image magazines with a total of twenty-nine members from thirteen countries. Today it is one of the most influential associations in the photography and imaging sector worldwide. Every year the magazines' editors vote for the best photo and imaging products launched onto the market during the previous 12 months. Criteria include technical innovation, the use of leading-edge technology, design, ergonomics, ease of use and price-performance ratio.
In addition to a striking design and shock-resistance from a height of 2.13 metres (7 feet), the EXILIM EX-G1 particularly impressed the TIPA Jury due to the wide range of functions aimed at its target group and their preferred areas of use. The camera can work at temperatures down to -10°C without any problems and is also unaffected by water, as it can be used for sixty minutes at a depth of up to 3 metres. In addition to 12.1 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom lens and 2.5-inch TFT colour monitor, the EX-G1 also includes special BEST SHOT settings for snow, beach and underwater scenes. A practical feature is the BEST SHOT interval shooting mode which enables photographers to take automatic fixed-point pictures and movies within a preset period of time while they themselves are hanging off a rock, paragliding across the skies or riding cross-country on their mountain bike.
The EXILIM EX-G1 is available retail stores at a recommended retail price of 349 euros (Approximately Rs. 22,000).
